Job Description
Welcome to apply as a public health center doctor at the North Karelia Welfare Area! We are hiring one PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER DOCTOR for a permanent position starting from 1.8.2026 or by agreement. The position is primarily located at the Loviisa unit, but our doctors are employed across the entire welfare area. We are looking for a general practitioner, a doctor in training, or a specialist in general medicine. In outpatient care, you will have the opportunity to work in a versatile, well-functioning multidisciplinary and human-sized work community. Our area operates within the HUS training health center system. We foster a genuinely development-oriented atmosphere and offer good opportunities to influence your job description and working hours in agreement with your supervisor. You can perform both consultative team work and independent tasks. Our health station’s emergency clinic is open from 8:00 to 16:00. We have access to HUS radiology and HUSlab services, and the building also includes physiotherapy services and a health center hospital ward. Employee benefits include lunch, sports, culture, well-being, and commuting benefits via Epassi. Occupational health services are provided by Mehiläinen. Partial remote work can also be negotiated. The qualification requirement is a licensed medical degree in Finland. Language skills required are good oral and written skills in one native language and good oral skills in the other native language. An interest in specializing in general medicine (if not already specialized) and experience or at least interest in child health clinics and school health services are considered advantages. In the absence of qualified applicants, we may also consider doctors trained outside the EEA (approval decision of the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health/Valvira regarding the medical degree). Employment terms are governed by the Medical Doctors’ Collective Agreement (LS). The position includes a 6-month probation period. Salary is based on a career step system, starting at 6034 euros/month for recent graduates and 7160 euros/month for specialists. Performance-based pay is paid separately. The career step system allows for positive salary development in the future. The position requires vaccination protection according to the Communicable Diseases Act § 48 and tuberculosis screening according to § 55. The employment is conditional until the selected candidate has provided a health check report from occupational health within one month of starting work, confirming their ability to perform the duties.
