Job Description
Canonical is hiring a Python Software Engineer to join the Certification team, who make the tools which enable us to know that a desktop, laptop, server or IoT device is working properly. We work at the interface of hardware and software, so the ideal candidate is a Python developer familiar with hardware. The Certification team develops tools to certify hardware for Ubuntu Core, Desktop, and Server. The role involves developing open source certification tools, supporting hardware solutions for test automation, and automating processes to improve Linux experience. The team collaborates globally, working with silicon companies, OEMs, ODMs, and internal teams to ensure a smooth Ubuntu experience across devices. The candidate should have Python skills, hardware familiarity, and experience with Linux. The role includes remote work, international travel, and participation in meetings. The team is based in EMEA time zones, working with colleagues in the Americas and APAC.
