Job Description
The City of Salo's Armfelt School has a vacancy for a special education teacher starting from August 1, 2026. Armfelt School is a comprehensive school in Halikko, Salo, with approximately 640 students. We are a school for all learners, aiming to build smooth educational pathways throughout basic education. Our school includes general education groups as well as various special education groups, from individualized instruction to small groups in connection with a child welfare institution. In addition to quality education, we emphasize active, multidisciplinary collaboration with different stakeholders. We are seeking a special education teacher for a permanent position starting August 1, 2026. The teacher will work in a classroom connected to a child welfare unit that was opened about two years ago. The school building is new and purpose-built for school use. The position requires qualification as a special education teacher. We value good collaboration skills, solution-oriented approach, and a calm and thoughtful attitude towards education. We hope applicants are eager and capable of developing their teaching and the entire school. Experience working with students requiring special support and multidisciplinary cooperation is an advantage. In addition to the base salary, you may receive experience-based supplements according to the collective agreement. We also pay a personal allowance to all employees whose employment has lasted over six months. The position will be filled conditionally until the selected candidate provides a valid health certificate and a criminal record extract as required by law (Child Welfare Law 504/2002) within 30 days of the employment decision. The employment relationship includes a six (6) month trial period, provided the terms of the collective agreement are met.
