Technology and innovation careers - KONE Corporation We are now looking for a Senior Lead Data Scientist, Analytics Platform and Solution Development Join our Digital Services, SW organization in Espoo or Hyvinkää, Finland, where we build and operate platforms and solutions across IoT Platform, Digital Services, and Analytics Platform. We work in a hybrid model so there’s possibility to work remotely couple of days a week. We are building a next-generation analytics platform to enable scalable, data-driven decision-making and intelligent services across KONE’s digital ecosystem. This platform will combine data, AI/ML, and insights into a unified and reusable foundation supporting multiple business and engineering use cases. This platform will support multiple use cases, including predictive maintenance, energy optimization, and safety improvements. As a Senior Lead Data Scientist you will play a key role in shaping and developing this platform across: Foundation layer (data & pipelines), Intelligence layer (AI/ML models), Consumption layer (dashboards & insights). What you’ll do: Define and build the intelligence layer using AI/ML for predictive, prescriptive, and optimization solutions. Participate the design and development of a scalable analytics platform and analytics solutions supporting multiple digital services and use cases. Design the consumption layer enabling dashboards, reporting, and actionable insights. Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate data pipelines and platform capabilities (e.g., Databricks, AWS). Drive architecture decisions, standardization, and best practices across analytics and AI solutions. Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, reliable, and production-ready. Work closely with software, data, IoT, and product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions. Guide development of data models, ML lifecycle, and analytics capabilities. What we’re looking for: Strong experience in data science and applied machine learning. Proven experience in building end-to-end analytics or data platforms. Hands-on experience with Databricks or similar modern data platforms. Excellent programming skills in Python (pandas, PySpark). Experience with AWS data and analytics services (e.g., S3, Glue, Athena, Lambda). Ability to design AI/ML solutions for real-world use cases. Experience building or supporting dashboards and insight-driven applications. Understanding of data pipelines, ETL, and data architecture concepts. Familiarity with CI/CD and production deployment practices. Strong collaboration and communication skills. Nice to have: Experience with streaming and real-time data processing (Kafka, Spark, Flink). Exposure to ML lifecycle tools (e.g. MLflow). Knowledge of data governance and cataloging (e.g. Unity Catalog). Experience with visualization tools (e.g. QuickSight or similar). Experience working with IoT or large-scale operational data.
