Wärtsilä Marine Power, Power Supply, R&D and Engineering, Testing & Validation is seeking an assembler for our engine laboratory in Vaasa. You will have the opportunity to work at the forefront of engine development and be involved as our operations expand. You will contribute to the development of next-generation engine technologies and the rapid transition to fossil-free fuels. The position is permanent and offers an exciting working environment in Vaasa, where innovation and sustainability are central. Job description: - Testing components, performance, and functionality of test engines at the factory, engine laboratory, field, and test rigs. Operating engines, test rigs, and support systems. - Performing high-quality mechanical assembly work for testing. - Maintaining, developing, and modifying test engines and support systems. - Ensuring a safe working environment by following instructions and reporting observations and improvement suggestions. - Reporting test results and related findings. - Using various control and measurement programs. - Developing testing methods and environment. - Tasks related to engine and technology development, for both new and delivered engines. Qualifications and skills: - Technical education (vocational school or equivalent). - Interest in engine technology and basic knowledge, deeper knowledge of four-stroke engines is a plus. - Knowledge of control and measurement systems is advantageous. - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. - Experience with manual and electronic tools and measurement systems. - Ability to work independently and in teams, including shift work. - Good Finnish or Swedish language skills. - Good English language skills. You should be able to: - Prepare and conduct necessary measurements and mechanical installations on test engines and laboratories according to schedule. - Ensure the quality and reliability of testing activities, following industry standards and Wärtsilä guidelines, with safety as a priority. - Collaborate to balance workload within the team.
