Job Description
Would you like to work in a role where you can see the tangible impact of your expertise – from soil and groundwater to field sites and client decision-making? At Sweco's Contaminated Environments team, you will participate in diverse projects related to soil, groundwater, surface water, and sediments, combining fieldwork, expert investigations, and reporting as part of a broad network of specialists. Investigate and solve environmental challenges In the Contaminated Environments team, we conduct investigations and remediation of contaminated soil, as well as studies on soil, groundwater, surface water, and sediments. We also prepare environmental and water permit applications, various environmental reports (including EDD), and work on environmental impact assessments focusing on soil and groundwater. You will work as part of a knowledgeable project team on various environmental projects, providing information that helps our clients make sustainable and justified decisions. Your tasks include conducting fieldwork and sampling across Finland, planning and reporting research and remediation projects, and expert tasks related to environmental impacts. Your primary work location will be Helsinki, but Tampere or Turku offices may also be options. Bring your skills and interest in diverse tasks To succeed in this role, you should have experience in expert and/or sampling tasks related to contaminated environments, such as soil and groundwater impact assessments or use of GIS software in environmental projects, and be able to take responsibility for diverse work packages. We hope you are: - Have gained approximately 2–5 years of experience in projects related to contaminated soil, groundwater, or other environmental investigations - Interested in working on diverse projects and in varying field conditions - Self-directed, flexible, proactive, and eager to develop your skills further. You hold a suitable higher university degree, for example in geology, water, or environmental engineering, and your language skills enable working in Finnish and English. Experience with GIS software is a plus. Additionally, experience in diverse tasks and projects related to contaminated environments and willingness to travel to work sites across Finland are valued.
