Job Description

The Children's League organizes high-quality and legally mandated after-school activities across Finland. In Helsinki, afternoon activities are organized at Herttoniemenranta, Merihaka, Roihuvuori, Suutarila, and Töölö elementary schools during the 2026-2027 school year. The activities primarily involve children in grades 1 and 2. The supervisor's duties include ensuring children's safety, planning and implementing activities together with the team, collaborating smoothly with parents and the school, and providing snacks. The role offers opportunities to utilize your creativity, skills, and personality. Suitable education (e.g., afternoon activity supervisor, school assistant, practical nurse, youth and leisure instructor, etc.) or experience working with children in similar roles such as scouting or sports clubs is required. The candidate should have an independent work approach and the ability to work in a team. Reliability, patience, and initiative are essential. Experience with children requiring special support is an advantage. The activities are organized on school days, starting at 12:00 and ending at 17:00. During school holidays and on Saturdays, the activities are closed. Children play, craft, and move indoors and outdoors. They can do homework with adult assistance, and snacks are provided by the school kitchen. Each team includes a lead supervisor and additional guides based on the number of children. This is a part-time position with 21-23 hours per week. The activities are closed during school holidays and on Saturdays. The hourly wage is determined according to the private social services sector collective agreement, wage group G16B. Candidates must be over 18 years old and have sufficient spoken and written Finnish skills.
