Hello child welfare professional! Would you like to join us in implementing and developing the child welfare reception? At the beginning of 2026, we opened the Pukinmäki youth reception. Two basic-level children's home wards became a special-level reception. Now we need an instructor to complement our skilled and established work groups. We are looking for an INSTRUCTOR (practical nurse, 1 position), as part of the Majakka ward's 9-person multidisciplinary work group, whose work is strongly led by a leading instructor present in the ward's daily life. The ward has six places for youth. Our service is 24-hour and emergency-like reception and assessment activity. Our clients are 13-17-year-old Helsinki youths. The duration of placements on our ward is 1-2 months, during which the goal is to stabilize the youth's daily life and make an assessment of the support needs of the youth and the family. We work closely with the youth's family and networks. With us, you will do versatile assessment and care work. Your duties include assessing the youth's overall situation, care, and maintenance. Youths coming to the ward often have special and multidisciplinary support needs. Our activities are based on close own-instructor work, work with families, and the use of various evidence-based methods. To support your work, you will have a multidisciplinary work group as well as colleagues from other youth receptions, the reception's own psychologists, and physician services acquired as a purchase service. Work groups have regular supervision, and occupational health care is provided by Mehiläinen. You will receive a comprehensive orientation for your work and the opportunity to participate in training that supports the work. The clear and established daily structures of the reception activity also help you succeed in your work. Experience in institutional child welfare care and an evaluative approach will be beneficial for your success in the job. Eligibility requirement: Practical nurse's degree. We require registration in the professional register of the License and Supervision Agency (Valvira). Good oral and written skills in Finnish. The person selected for the position must present a certificate regarding a drug test to the employer before the employment begins. Before the selection decision, the applicant must present an assessment from occupational health care on their prerequisites to perform the tasks included in the work. Vaccination protection according to Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act is required in the position. Successful completion of the LOVe LOP medical permit is required in the position by the end of the probationary period at the latest. Presentation of a criminal record extract is required in the position (Act on the investigation of the criminal background of persons working with children 504/2002). We consider experience in institutional child welfare care as an advantage, and we especially value experience in reception work.
