Job Description
We are seeking a director for the demanding foster care unit in Rovaniemi. Rovaniemi Kuntola is a high-threshold child protection unit for children and adolescents aged 10–17. Our unit has four client places, and we hope you can start as soon as possible. We specialize in intensive care for young people with psychological and neuropsychiatric difficulties, as well as psychiatric and functional rehabilitation. Our high staff-to-child ratio allows for individual and safe interactions with children and adolescents. Our work is based on adult-led, stable, and activity-based routines, aiming to create a safe and predictable environment for children and young people. We do not care for children or adolescents exhibiting substance abuse or criminal behavior. You may have a background as a social worker, nurse, community pedagogue, practical nurse, or youth worker. In this role, you will implement care, upbringing, and rehabilitation work within the unit and build an activity-based daily routine together with a multidisciplinary team. We are looking for a professional with a positive and solution-oriented approach, and experience in child protection, psychiatric work, or work with developmental disabilities. You should prioritize the child's or adolescent's best interest in challenging situations and be firm yet gentle. A good sense of humor and a proactive attitude are also appreciated. What we offer at Kuntola: A flat organizational structure and agile company. Kuntola is a straightforward and flexible company – decision-making is quick, and the work atmosphere is relaxed but professional. A small client group and a high staff ratio. Our units' very high staff ratio enables active and functional daily routines and individual, safe interactions with children and adolescents. Comprehensive orientation. You will receive training related to your specific duties, the unit's operations, shared practices, and engaging with children and adolescents. The opportunity to influence your work shifts and holidays. We work long shifts of approximately 10-12 hours. Opportunities for professional development. We continuously train our teams. You can participate in long training courses to enhance your skills. Regular supervision is also available. Good staff benefits, such as ePassi and comprehensive accident insurance during leisure time. Salary class G22 (€2460.27 - €2785.40) for basic education, salary class G25E (€2952.96 - €3220.52) for university-level education.
