This is a hands-on role for someone early in their legal career who wants exposure to the realities of building and scaling a technology company. Instead, you'll work closely with our Lead Legal Counsel and business teams to help keep deals moving, support internal stakeholders, and improve how legal operates across the company. We're looking for someone who is pragmatic, commercially minded, and motivated by helping the business achieve outcomes efficiently while managing risk appropriately. Your responsibilities Support in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements, including non-disclosure agreements, customer, supplier, vendor, and partnership contracts Support the legal review process for commercial opportunities and strategic initiatives Conduct legal research and provide concise, practical recommendations to internal stakeholders Assist with contract lifecycle management, record keeping, and legal operations processes Help develop and maintain legal templates, playbooks, guidance materials, and internal policies Support compliance, governance, corporate, and regulatory matters as required Work closely with teams across Sales, Finance, Operations, Procurement, and People to provide timely legal support Identify opportunities to improve legal processes and increase efficiency as the company scales Help ensure legal risks are identified, communicated clearly, and managed in a commercially sensible way. Your key competencies Recently completed a law degree or 3+ years of legal studies, or approximately 1 year of relevant experience in a law firm or an in-house legal team. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently. Strong commercial awareness and interest in technology businesses. Ability to communicate legal concepts in a clear and practical way. Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Strong ownership mentality and willingness to take initiative. Most importantly, you are: Pragmatic, results-oriented and business-minded, focused on solutions rather than obstacles, curious, proactive, and eager to learn, comfortable operating with ambiguity and changing priorities. Nice to have experience working with commercial contracts, exposure to technology, SaaS, cloud, AI, or infrastructure-related legal matters, familiarity with GDPR, privacy, or compliance topics, additional European language skills, previous experience in a scale-up or venture-backed company, comfortable using AI-powered tools to improve legal workflows and productivity. Why Verda Opportunity to gain broad exposure across commercial, corporate, compliance, and operational legal matters. Direct mentorship from an experienced in-house legal leader. Fast learning environment with meaningful responsibility from day one. Work alongside ambitious teams building critical infrastructure for the AI ecosystem. International environment with colleagues from dozens of nationalities. Opportunity to contribute to a company scaling rapidly across multiple markets. Practicalities Location: Helsinki.
