Early Childhood Education Teacher, Vermo Daycare Center - Espoon kaupunki - Espoo, Finland

We are seeking an early childhood education teacher for a permanent position starting in the fall at Vermo Daycare Center. Our daycare operates six groups in the fall of 2026. Two groups are for 1-2-year-olds, three groups for 2-5-year-olds, and one group for 5-6-year-olds. Our environment is new, and the facilities and equipment provide excellent opportunities to create a learning and play environment that meets quality standards for early childhood education. The daycare includes several small-group rooms, a workshop, and a large sports hall. There are also good workspaces that enable teachers to have time outside of group activities. We are an open, positive, and experimental daycare. Our values include a joyful atmosphere, a relaxed pace, and embracing physical closeness. Empathetic presence and noticing the good are emphasized in early childhood education. We pay special attention to play, emotional, and interaction skills. Our staff combines strong professional expertise with an understanding of the importance of early childhood education. All groups implement high-quality pedagogy under the leadership of qualified staff. Multidisciplinary collaboration and collegial support are facilitated through effective cooperation between groups. Over the past couple of years, we have invested in collaboration with various actors. Vermo Daycare serves as a practicum placement for students training as early childhood education teachers at the University of Helsinki. Additionally, our unit has hosted visitors from around the world. In spring 2026, our daycare participated in a pilot project on arts education for 5-year-olds. We also offer Juvenalia’s music activities for those who sign up. As an early childhood education teacher, you will act as an expert in early childhood education and be responsible, as part of your team and community, for planning, implementing, and evaluating high-quality pedagogy. Collaboration with other groups within the unit enables daily pedagogical dialogue. Planning time for teachers at Vermo Daycare is partly scheduled within the unit’s fixed meeting structures. We also utilize team and paired teaching. Our daycare strongly values dialogue, humor, and working together. Our focus areas include supported play, pedagogical documentation, and positive pedagogy.
