Job Description
We’re a global team of over 400 people, working together to push the boundaries of open-source technology and multi-cloud solutions. Our vision is to help developers, builders, and creators bring their ideas to life with speed and simplicity, by providing a cloud data platform that makes open-source databases, search, streaming, and application infrastructure easily accessible to everyone. The Role We're looking for someone who gets excited about using AI and technology to make work better — not just more automated, but genuinely more human. In this role, you'll own our People tech stack and use AI to take the friction out of the processes that slow our teams down, so we can spend more time on what actually matters: our people. This is a builder role. You'll shape how AI transforms the way our People team operates — from smarter hiring to better insights to smoother day-to-day experiences for everyone at Aiven. What you'll do Own the stack You'll be the go-to person for our People tools (HRIS, ATS, Jira) and our new build Aiven Atlas, the platform for all our tools to connect with each other — making sure they work well together and serve the people who use them every day. Build the AI roadmap Define and drive our People team AI strategy — identifying the highest-value opportunities across the employee lifecycle and turning them into a clear, prioritised roadmap with real milestones. Automate the annoying stuff Deploy agentic AI and automation to eliminate manual, repetitive work — things like case management, document handling, and payroll queries — freeing the team up for more meaningful work. Turn data into insight Build dashboards, predictive models, and executive reporting that help us understand our workforce better and make smarter decisions on hiring, retention, and performance. Bring the team along Champion AI literacy across the People function — designing training that helps recruiters, HR business partners, and specialists feel confident and capable with new tools. Do it responsibly Make sure everything we build is secure, compliant, and aligned with responsible AI principles — including awareness of frameworks like the EU AI Act. Who You're You've led tech or digital transformation (preferably in People/HR context, but not a must) before — this isn't your first rodeo You're hands-on with Enterprise platforms (HiBob experience is a plus) You're comfortable with analytics and data tools — SQL, Python, Power BI or Tableau You've actually deployed AI, not just read about it You understand responsible AI — bias, ethics, governance — and take it seriously You can communicate clearly at every level, from engineers to the C-suite You thrive in a smaller, fast-moving environment where you can make a real impact without layers of bureaucracy Amazing! What’s next: We're a nimble team and this role has real scope. If you want to own something meaningful and build it your way, we'd love to hear from you. Global Benefits: Our global benefits are designed to help you thrive and grow, personally and professionally: Participate in Aiven’s equity plan. Balance work and life with our hybrid work policy. Choose the equipment you need to set yourself up for success. Use your Professional Development Plan budget for learning opportunities. Receive holistic wellbeing support through our global Employee Assistance Program. Inquire about our Global Time Off Commitment (Parental and Sick Leave, as well as Personal Time) Enjoy country-specific benefits for our global cast.
