Job Description
Come and do meaningful youth work in Tuusula! We are looking for a youth worker for a permanent position in the Youth Services of Tuusula. In the fall of 2026, a new youth space will open in Hyrylä as part of a new shopping center, and we are now seeking enthusiastic and development-oriented professionals to join the Hyrylä team to create a safe, inclusive, and meaningful meeting place for young people. The activities of the Youth Services support the growth, development, and participation of young people through preventive and targeted youth work. The youth worker's tasks are diverse and are carried out in various environments including youth centers, schools, and young people's own activity and hobby environments in the Tuusula area. Key responsibilities include engaging with young people, strengthening participation, and planning and implementing diverse leisure activities. The youth worker's duties include ideation, planning, preparation, and implementation of youth activities and hobbies in collaboration with young people, other local guides, and stakeholders. Your tasks include, among others, guiding youth center activities, engaging with and supporting young people in everyday life, collaborating with schools, guardians, and other stakeholders, and promoting youth participation and influence. We expect from you: - Experience working with young people - Good communication and collaboration skills - Initiative and a positive attitude towards development - Ability to work with diverse youth and adapt to changing situations A driver's license and the ability to travel for work are considered an advantage. The working hours are 38.15 hours per week. The work is mainly evening work and includes some weekend work. The qualification requirement is a suitable professional degree such as youth and leisure instructor, youth and community instructor, community pedagogue (AMK), or other relevant education. The position requires the selected candidate to provide a criminal record extract upon request before starting employment, in accordance with section 6, subsection 2 of the Criminal Records Act. Salary is determined according to KVTES. The level salary for the position is €2628.21 per month, with possible additional pay based on previous work experience. The terms of employment are governed by the Municipal General Collective Agreement (KVTES). The employment is permanent and begins on August 15, 2026, or as agreed.
