Job Description
We are hiring a social worker for a permanent position in family and child welfare due to increasing client numbers and resource strengthening. In your work, you will be responsible for planned and goal-oriented social work with families and children. You will serve as the primary worker for approximately 50 children requiring special support and work closely with children, their families, and various cooperation networks. Your duties also include handling child protection notifications and assessing the need for child protection. In urgent situations, you will work alongside social and crisis duty services. Your operational environment extends from the islands of Kemiönsaaren and Parainen to Sauvo, Paimio, and Kaarina, and inland to Lieto, Marttila, and Koski TL. In the future, the work will also focus on Swedish-speaking clients in the Turku area, so the position requires flexibility to travel across the region. You will work within a systemic approach in a multidisciplinary team, utilizing stabilizing and trauma-informed family psychotherapy expertise during weekly meetings. We offer support from a skilled and motivated team — including five social workers, six social guidance officers, and a senior social worker. In a large organization, you will have access to management support, legal support, and good training and development opportunities. You will benefit from a diverse range of services, including a family therapist and psychologist working directly with client families. Supervision is provided in group format. Additionally, you will have flexible working hours and the possibility of partial remote work. We expect you to have a strong professional approach, the ability to manage extensive client cases, and readiness to work under pressure. You value long-term and impactful client work and face changing situations courageously and with a development-oriented mindset. We appreciate diverse experience in social services for families with children and familiarity with regional cooperation networks. Proficiency in the LC client information system and the ability to utilize AI as a support in expert work are considered advantages. The qualification requirement is a professional degree in social work in accordance with the Social Welfare Professionals Act (817/2015). Good oral and written skills in Finnish and Swedish are required. Interested? Apply for the position and help build impactful social work together with a competent team.
