We are currently hiring two new social workers for permanent positions in the Hämeenlinna office. Your workplace is located in Hämeenlinna. There are good public transport connections from many directions, and the office is about 400 meters from the train station. We have child protection work vehicles available. A driver’s license is required for the job. Possession of a personal car is considered an advantage. In child protection outpatient care, your clients are children and young people under 18 in need of child protection services. You will act as the social worker responsible for the child's affairs and lead work according to the client plan. You will have the support of a motivated, humorous team of experienced social workers, guides, and family workers. The team leader has extensive experience in child protection work and is available for support in various challenges. Our work community finds the work meaningful and impactful and collectively invests in well-being. Our work is based on a systemic child protection model, and we have access to a family therapist specialized in child protection for weekly meetings and client work. Group supervision is held eight times a year. We require experience in child protection tasks, a driver’s license, the ability to manage overall situations and assess clients’ circumstances, as well as decision-making skills and teamwork skills. Good communication and documentation skills are valued. You must be a licensed social worker. If there are no qualified applicants, the position may be temporarily filled for up to a year with a student in social work who has completed basic and advanced studies and practical training, or a social services student with relevant university studies and practical experience, or a person with a suitable university degree in social sciences with sufficient practical experience and skills. There are two vacancies starting on 1.8.2026 and 1.9.2026 or as agreed during the fall. Interviews will be held on 21.7.2026 at the Hämeenlinna office from 12:00 onwards. The office is located at Talaskuja 3, 4th floor, 13100 Hämeenlinna. Applicants selected for the position must provide a criminal record extract as required by law (504/2002, 770/1993) before starting work. They must also provide a health certificate after receiving the employment decision. We encourage completing studies, and we offer paid leave for thesis work. Additional experience-based pay may range from 0% to 8%. Salary and other employment conditions are governed by the SOTE agreement. The trial period is six months.
