Join a skilled and warm-hearted team caring for abdominal surgery emergency patients at Jorvi Hospital's ward 3D-E. This is a permanent position offering the unique opportunity to work in a newly completed ward building on the Jorvi campus. You will work in a demanding specialized medical care environment characterized by strong community spirit, collegial support, and continuous learning. The ward treats abdominal surgery emergency patients transferred from emergency clinics and monitoring units. Primary patient groups include those arriving for appendectomies, gallbladder issues, gastrointestinal bleeding, pancreatitis, intestinal obstructions, and patients with abdominal pain requiring investigation and diagnosis. Close cooperation is maintained with Jorvi's elective abdominal surgery ward. Responsibilities include pre- and post-operative nursing, systematic monitoring and assessment of patient condition, management of acute situations, administration of medication and fluids, and patient guidance. The role involves three-shift work based on evidence-based nursing practices. You will be responsible for the holistic consideration of the individual needs of patients and their relatives in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. Additionally, you will support patients and relatives in coping with the illness, safely administer medication, actively develop your expertise, guide students and new colleagues, and utilize digital services and technology. You will also participate in the development and evaluation of evidence-based practices through targeted multidisciplinary cooperation. Requirements
- Licensed Registered Nurse
- Good oral and written skills in Finnish and satisfactory oral and written skills in Swedish (or vice versa)
- Vaccination protection according to the Communicable Diseases Act
- Health certificate regarding pulmonary tuberculosis
