About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic adventure service guides for the upcoming winter season to work with international and domestic guests. Your work will involve a variety of nature and program services, such as snowshoeing tours, electric snowmobile safaris, ice fishing trips, Northern Lights programs, and other winter experiences. Each workday is varied, and you will share the best of Ruka’s nature with our guests. Your duties as an adventure service guide include guiding and delivering various experiences and excursions, ensuring guests’ safety and comfort, conveying information about the area’s nature, culture and lifestyle, preparing and maintaining equipment, and being part of a passionate and service‑minded guide team. We expect a positive attitude and genuine desire to work with customers, interest in nature, outdoor activities and experiential services, good physical condition and ability to work outdoors in changing weather, first aid skills (EA2 or equivalent), fluent English, and a B‑driver’s license. It is also valued to have training in outdoor, nature or sports fields, varied activity skills in experiential services (snowshoeing, cross‑country skiing, fishing, cycling, etc.), experience in guiding, travel or customer service, and other language skills. We offer an unforgettable work environment in the Ruka nature, diverse work with international and domestic clients, thorough orientation and opportunities to develop your own skills, a fantastic team and support for success, and the possibility to train as a ski instructor. Great recreational opportunities and employee benefits especially for skiing and physical activity. If you actively ski or snowboard in your free time and want to train further, we offer the possibility to become a ski instructor; with sufficient self‑acquired skiing/snowboarding skills your work in the fell can include a versatile mix of ski school and adventure service duties, enabling broader tasks and more hours, and the chance to grow into a versatile professional in travel and sport. Tell us about your interest in trainable ski instruction and training during the application. We offer multiple term contracts, some full‑time (112.5 h / 3‑week cycle) and some part‑time (about 75–90 h / 3‑week cycle). All contracts are fixed‑term from mid‑November to mid‑March. We operate under the Ski Resort sector collective agreement and pay scale. Apply by 31.08.2026. We encourage applying as soon as possible as interviews will be conducted and positions may be filled before the deadline.
