About the role

We are seeking for the Kittilä gold mine **Rock Mechanics Engineer** In this role, you will work as part of the rock mechanics team, ensuring stable and safe production in the underground mine. Your duties include: - Making and reporting rock mechanical observations in the mine in cooperation with the rest of the rock mechanics team - Designing, monitoring, and quality controlling rock mass support in cooperation with the production team - Supporting production and mine planning teams in rock mechanics-related aspects - Development and installation work for rock mechanical instrumentation in cooperation with the rock mechanics team. The employment is permanent, and the work is day shift. The job primarily requires presence at our mine area in Kiistala. We expect from you: - A university degree in a suitable field, e.g., soil or rock construction, construction engineering, or bedrock geology - Previous experience in the mining or rock construction industry or structural geology, 3D modeling, and the use of CAD software is a clear advantage.
