In the family intensive work part of the children and youth mental health services, the goal of holistic work is to improve the psychological well-being and functioning of the family in particularly challenging situations. The multidisciplinary team consists of psychiatric nurses, psychologists, social work professionals, occupational therapists, as well as a child psychiatrist and an adult psychiatrist. Family intensive work serves the entire Pirkanmaa region. Work is currently carried out in two units, in Ylöjärvi and Valkeakoski. In the future, the units will merge and the workplace will be located in Tampere. We are seeking an adult psychiatrist for family intensive work. The core of the role is providing consultation support for the rest of the working group, as well as assessing the situation of the adults in the family, performing examinations and diagnostics if necessary, and planning and implementing treatment and rehabilitation based on these in cooperation with the multidisciplinary team. Especially during the transition phase, some of the work may be performed remotely. Eligibility requires a specialist physician's degree in psychiatry licensed in Finland. A physician licensed in Finland with sufficient experience and expertise in mental health and substance abuse work may also be selected for a fixed-term position. We require good written and oral skills in Finnish. Experience in addiction psychiatry and family-centered work is considered an advantage. Work begins on November 1, 2026, or by agreement. The probationary period in the position is six months. The position is full-time and the working time is 38.25 hours/week. Before accepting the position, the selected applicant must present a criminal record extract in accordance with Section 6, subsection 2 of the Criminal Records Act. The selection is conditional until the selected person has presented an occupational health assessment, which is carried out at our occupational health service, Pirtes. The position requires vaccination protection according to Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a report on respiratory tuberculosis according to Section 55.
