Part-time Teacher, Main Duty (Class Teacher) - Lohjan kaupunki - Lohja, Finland

We are seeking a part-time teacher with class teacher responsibilities for Virkby and Solbrinkens School for the period 1.8.2026 - 31.7.2027. The two schools (grades 1-6) in Lohja are comfortable, smaller units where daily routines function well. The schools have combined classes with a focus on the students' best interests. The staff at both schools includes special teachers, special class teachers, and school guidance counselors. Staff support each other to strengthen community, and there is a culture of working together. In addition to strong collegial support, you will have a designated mentor. Solbrinkens School is located in Laurentius House in the center of Lohja with good opportunities to move around in the surrounding area, while Virkby School is situated in a scenic area on the outskirts of Lohja. As a class teacher, the role requires: Good skills in engaging with all students and collaboration with various stakeholders. Strong knowledge in teaching mixed classes and a positive attitude towards teamwork. Competence in differentiating instruction. Experience in the subjects taught in grades 1-6 and skills in using digital tools in daily activities. We also value good knowledge of both native languages and familiarity with teaching arrangements that support learning and group-specific support measures. Qualifications are in accordance with the decree on qualification requirements for personnel in education (986/98) (http://finlex.fi/sv/laki/ajantasa/1998/19980986). The submitted certificates should show: completed degree and studies demonstrating qualification (e.g., pedagogical studies 60 ECTS, subject didactic studies 60 ECTS, qualification for subject teaching 60/120 ECTS). Salary is determined according to UKTA. A probationary period of half the length of employment applies. The appointee must submit a health certificate from Keski-Uudenmaan Työterveys Oy in Lohja within one month of starting employment. Additionally, a criminal record extract according to law (504/2002) must be presented. Interviews will be held immediately after the application deadline.
