The Western Uusimaa wellbeing services county is strengthening its child welfare institutional care services and opening two new units in Veikkola, Kirkkonummi, forming the Lamminjärvi children's home. Both units have 7 special-level places for children aged 13-17. One of the units specializes in caring for children with severe substance abuse symptoms and the other for children with severe psychological symptoms. In addition to the child welfare service manager acting as the unit supervisor, the staff will consist of UAS-level instructors, a registered nurse, basic degree-level instructors, and a shared occupational therapist for the units. We also employ a cook-food service worker who takes care of the units' catering, and cleaning services are responsible for cleaning, so the care and education staff can focus on the care and educational tasks of the children. Separate care structures are being built for both units in cooperation with mental health and substance abuse services. The work includes regular team meetings, group supervision, and internal supplementary training according to the needs arising from the work. The work is period work, and the shifts for a basic degree-level instructor are mainly evening and night shifts; your wishes will be taken into account in the shift planning. The instructor's duties include: - care and educational tasks for children placed in the children's home - network work - tasks belonging to the daily activities of the children's home - active participation in the development of the unit's operations together with the workgroup What do we expect from you? Eligibility requirement: education suitable for the position, i.e., at least a basic degree in the social, health, or education field, such as a practical nurse's degree. In addition, we require: - experience working in child welfare services or mental health and substance abuse services - a B-class driver's license and driving skills - an enthusiastic and motivated approach - a work attitude that respects the client and colleagues - good oral and written Finnish language skills - documentation skills - a positive and interactive approach to work - the selected candidate is required to provide a criminal record extract in accordance with Section 6.2 of the Criminal Records Act Considered an advantage: - understanding of trauma-based, psychological, and neuropsychiatric symptoms - various supplementary trainings in substance abuse work as well as crisis and trauma work - mastery of functional methods and medication administration permits Selected employees will be asked randomly for a drug test in accordance with the Western Uusimaa wellbeing services county's substance abuse program.
