The Many-Body Theory group is looking for a doctoral researcher to work on the computational study of quantum nuclear effects in solids. The project is funded as part of HIP Theory Program. The focus is on studying quantum nuclear effects on properties of solids by developing an in-house program package and performing computations on realistic solids using CSC supercomputers. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply. The successful candidate will join a young research group and may supervise Bachelor's students and participate in teaching tasks. Requirements include a Master’s degree in physics, mathematics, computer science, or chemistry, ideally in computational condensed matter physics, with strong programming background. Excellent English; Python proficiency; knowledge of Quantum ESPRESSO advantageous. The position is for three years with a possible start in Fall 2026 and a six-month trial period. Salary follows Finnish University Salary System; typical starting salary around 3000 EUR/month. Benefits include occupational health care, flexible hours, campus facilities and staff discounts.
