LUT University and LAB University of Applied Sciences are seeking a Head of Legal Services to manage the overall legal affairs and document management for the higher education institutions. The role involves leading a legal team of four specialists and a document services team of three specialists, ensuring that legal services effectively support both daily operations and strategic goals. Key responsibilities include providing legal support for research activities, handling contract law matters, administrative law issues, and legal aspects of public procurement. The role also oversees records management and document archiving. The Head of Legal Services works closely with the management of the universities, researchers, and other internal stakeholders, reporting to the Director of Governance and Risk Management. The position requires a Master of Laws degree and strong experience in managing organizational legal affairs. Experience in leading specialists or other supervisory roles is beneficial. The ideal candidate is collaborative, solution-oriented, and capable of identifying essential legal issues within a complex organizational context. Excellent communication skills and a strong service mindset are essential. Fluency in both Finnish and English is required. The role is based in either Lahti or Lappeenranta, utilizing a hybrid work model.
