About the role

A part-time position at Lastentarhamuseo (The Infant Museum) in Helsinki, Finland. The museum seeks a person who enjoys working with people, notices even the smallest museum visitors, and is interested in the history of early childhood education. The duties include customer service, organizing exhibition spaces and public areas, acting as a conversation guide to visitors, and supervising spaces. The role may also involve guiding workshops depending on the applicant’s skills and interests. We hope you have experience in the museum sector and in customer service, strong social skills, problem-solving abilities, and sensitivity when working with small children and families. Education in museum, history, and/or early childhood education is an advantage. The primary working hours are Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 16:00 to 19:30 during 1.9.–20.12.2026 and 12.1.–30.5.2027. Additionally, in October–November there may be a few Saturdays from 9:30 to 13:30. If needed, there may be shifts on other days of the week. We aim to hire one person for the role, but we may select two people and divide the workload. The job requires good spoken Finnish and English; knowledge of Swedish is considered a plus. We offer a beautiful and inspiring work environment and friendly colleagues. The Infant Museum is a professionally funded museum that records, studies and presents the history of Finnish early childhood education. Our interactive exhibition brings the past to life for visitors of all ages, including families, adults, and international guests. As a museum guide you will do meaningful work in the field of cultural heritage and create engaging and memorable museum experiences for visitors.
