**Do you want to be part of developing the production of new material technology and future products?** Aisti is bringing a new generation of wood-fiber-based acoustic material to the market, challenging traditional construction solutions. At the same time, we are building a modern production plant in Kitee, combining new material technology, sustainable production, and continuous development. Therefore, we are now looking for an experienced R&D Engineer who will take a key role in production optimization, product quality development, and the development of new products and manufacturing technologies. In this position, you will not enter a ready-made environment where everything is predefined. You will join a phase where new production is starting up, operations are developed rapidly, and lessons are put into practice daily. You will not step into a predefined role – instead, you will build operating methods, development projects, and future solutions together with the rest of the organization, directly impacting the competitiveness of our products and production performance. **What does your work look like?** In the initial phase of the task, your work will focus on supporting the startup of the new production line, developing the production process, and ensuring excellent product quality. You will serve as a vital link between production and product development. You will identify areas for improvement, analyze data, participate in problem-solving, and implement solutions together with production, quality, and maintenance. As production stabilizes and processes reach their target levels, the focus of the role will shift increasingly toward the development of new products, materials, and manufacturing technologies. In daily life, this means that one day you might analyze a deviation observed in product quality, the next you design and execute test runs to improve production, and on the third day, you participate in a development project for a new product or manufacturing technology together with international partners. **Your key tasks are:** - support the startup of production and the development of the production process - develop product quality, manufacturability, and process performance - analyze process and quality data and identify areas for improvement - participate in investigating deviations, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions - operate at the interface of production, quality, and product development - design, implement, and document test runs and development projects - participate in the development of new products, materials, and manufacturing technologies - collaborate with customers, research organizations, equipment suppliers, and other development partners - support the transition of innovations and new solutions into industrial production - participate in building future production and product development solutions **Working model and location** Our locations are currently in Kitee and Jyväskylä. In the initial phase, the work is heavily focused on the Puhos production plant in Kitee, where you will support the production startup, process optimization, and product quality development. As production stabilizes, the focus will shift more toward product development, new manufacturing technologies, and international cooperation. It is possible to work in a hybrid model, partly remotely. However, initially, the role requires regular presence at our production plant as well as a willingness to travel within Finland and abroad. **Our value is exceptional** This means a desire to do things exceptionally. Not just well, but in a way that moves the work forward and challenges conventional solutions. In this role, this is particularly evident in how you combine technical expertise, practical problem-solving, and a development mindset. You dare to ask why, seek new perspectives, and put development ideas into practice. At the same time, we are open about daily work: not everything is ready yet. We are building new products, processes, and operating methods while production starts and grows. This requires initiative, flexibility, and the ability to operate in a changing environment. **What do we expect from you?** - relevant technical education (M.Sc. Tech or B.Eng) - experience in process industry production, process development, or product development - ability to combine analytical thinking with practical implementation - interest in developing production processes, products, and technologies - strong problem-solving skills and a systematic approach to work - good collaboration and communication skills - fluent skills in Finnish and English - willingness to travel and work in an international operating environment **Considerable as an advantage** - experience with production startups, ramp-ups, or commissioning projects - experience in the paper industry or similar fiber-product manufacturing industry - experience with foam coating technology - experience in product quality development and process optimization - experience in research and development projects - experience collaborating with customers, research institutes, or international partners **What do we offer you?** - the opportunity to be part of the next phase of commercializing new material technology and directly influence the development of products, processes, and manufacturing technologies - a responsible and versatile role in a growing material technology company - an enthusiastic work community with a flat hierarchy - the opportunity to grow with the role and influence Aisti's future technology path The salary range for the position is approximately €5,000–6,000/month depending on the selected person's experience. **Additionally, we offer** - an option program for all staff - sports and culture benefits (ePassi) - comprehensive occupational healthcare - leisure travel insurance At Aisti, we want you to be proud of what you build and how you influence the birth of new material technology, new products, and a new kind of industrial production in Finland.
