OHJAAJA (SOSIONOMI)

We are seeking a full-time caregiver at Vaala's children and youth home (Lapsi- ja nuorisokoti Nokkala) to work as an OHJAAJA (SOSIONOMI). As a supervisor, your tasks will include a versatile range of youth home guidance duties. You will care for the children and youths placed in the unit together with our professionals, participate in drafting and implementing care and upbringing plans, and you will be in contact with guardians and professionals in networks. The qualification requirement is a social worker degree (AMK) or sufficient studies in the field (basic and practical studies in social work and practical training) so that you can operate in the role. We require registration in the Valvira central register of professionals. The role requires adequate experience and expertise in child welfare institutional work and knowledge of the Child Welfare Act. We are looking for a caregiver for our Nokkala team who has good collaboration and interaction skills, responsibility, and a development-oriented attitude. Lapsi- ja nuorisokoti Nokkala Oy is located in a picturesque setting on the bank of the Oulujoki river and is a seven-place youth home that provides institutional child welfare services and acts as a reception unit for open welfare support measures and for youths placed or placed under guardianship on an urgent basis. Nokkala also has two apartments for independent youths. Each child has two own supervisors with whom the child works purposefully, participates in activities, and spends time. At Nokkala, children can enjoy a safe and homely everyday life surrounded by calm nature. Nokkala is located on the bank of the Oulujoki river, the youth home has its own beach and a lean-to with a lakeside sauna. The selected candidate must present a criminal background check in accordance with the Act 504/2002 before taking up the position. Terms of employment follow the private social services sector collective agreement (TES).
