We are strengthening our own child welfare institutional care services with two new units in Veikkola, Kirkkonummi, which form the Lamminjärvi children's home. Both units have 7 special-level places for children aged 13-17. One of the units is profiled to care for children with severe substance abuse symptoms and the other for children with severe psychological symptoms. In addition to the child welfare service manager acting as the unit supervisor, the staff will consist of AMK-instructors, a registered nurse, basic-level instructors, and a common occupational therapist for the units. We also employ a cook-food service worker who takes care of the units' catering, and cleaning services are responsible for cleaning, so the care and education staff can focus on the care and education tasks of the children. We are now looking for an occupational therapist to work jointly in both units. The occupational therapist's duties include assessing and supporting the functional capacity of children and parents, strengthening rehabilitative activities according to goals, utilizing professional expertise and bringing perspectives to teamwork, as well as care and education tasks for children. Work with networks and families is also an essential part of your duties. In this position, you will be able to develop the occupational therapist's job description through your own professional expertise and interests. The professional peer group for the occupational therapist consists of occupational therapists in other child welfare institutional care units. We are looking for a motivated person, enthusiastic about discovering new things, who is capable of both independent work and acting as part of a team. The occupational therapist works in shift work and can autonomously plan their own working hours based on the needs of the units. Eligibility requirement: licensed occupational therapist In addition, we require: - experience working in child welfare services or mental health and substance abuse services - B-driving license and driving skills - an inspiring and motivated work attitude, respecting clients and colleagues - good oral and written Finnish language skills - documentation skills - a criminal record extract as referred to in Section 6.2 of the Criminal Records Act Considered an advantage: - various supplementary training in substance abuse work as well as crisis and trauma work - medication administration permits - knowledge of multidisciplinary teamwork and network work - ability to work systematically and intensively according to set goals. Selected employees will be randomly asked for a drug test certificate in accordance with the Western Uusimaa wellbeing services county substance abuse program. Interested?
