About the role

We are now looking for an Application Engineer to join our international team in Espoo. You will be working in the Simulation Experts team. Application Engineers (Also known as Simulation Experts) ensure that our customers, which include machine builders, system integrators, and manufacturers, can use the Visual Components products and services successfully. In this position, continuous learning is your daily task. This means both discovering new details on the technical side and learning to understand the needs of different industries. In the Simulation Experts team, we have a lot of responsibilities, and we share and rotate tasks and roles. We are looking for someone with excellent technical skills in automation, production, computer science, or a similar field. Ideally, you know how to write scripts and utilize AI to automate tasks, you are familiar with 3D modeling, you are a problem solver, and you are not afraid of leading training sessions or speaking to a group of people online or on-site. As we are now filling a position in the Connectivity team within the Simulation Experts department, we especially value knowledge of industrial automation, PLCs, connectivity, and industrial networks. But most importantly, you are eager to learn and help others. Your impact - Teaching customers how to use Visual Components to solve their business challenges - Providing the most efficient customer support - Working alongside our Sales team as a subject matter expert in delivering product presentations and demonstrations. - Being involved in creating detailed product documentation and tutorials - Participating in consultancy projects - Developing simulation components and model libraries - Attending exhibitions and trade shows The skills you will bring - Relevant work experience and / or educational background (e.g., a degree) in automation engineering, production engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science - Good experience in Python programming gained from previous work, studies, or hobbies. We value other programming languages as well - Experience in 3D modeling, and/or 3D simulation tools. For example, Visual Components, CAD, Blender, Maya, 3D Studio, etc. - Experience in production, automation, and/or robotics - knowledge of industrial automation, PLCs, connectivity, and industrial networks - Presentation skills and ability to talk to a group of people online and on-site - Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken - Customer focused mindset - Interest in providing customer support - Ability to travel for work Perks of joining us As a company, we are flexible and adaptable when it comes to your location inside Finland.
