INSTRUCTORS (PRACTICAL NURSE) FOR ON-CALL WORK IN DISABILITY SERVICES – BUILD A SAFE AND MEANINGFUL EVERYDAY LIFE At Aberia Disability Services, we build homes where every person is met as an individual – the protagonist of their own life. Our work is based on respect, presence, and an everyday life tailored to the customer. Koivukallio is Aberia's first residential unit for people with intellectual disabilities in Finland. It opens in September 2026 in Siekkilä, Mikkeli. Koivukallio is designed specifically for the everyday lives of customers on the autism spectrum and those requiring demanding support. The unit offers 24-hour service housing in small groups, where daily life is built individually according to each customer's needs. The home consists of three group homes and a total of 22 resident places. The environment is built to support clarity, peace, and predictability – things that are central to a good everyday life for customers on the autism spectrum. At Koivukallio, work is based on strong interaction and communication skills, respect for the customer's right to self-determination, and a rehabilitative approach. WHAT IS THE WORK LIKE? As an instructor, you will work with people on the autism spectrum in a 24-hour residential unit. The work involves walking alongside the customer in their daily life, combining guidance, a rehabilitative approach, and the creation of a safe environment. In your work, you will: - build a clear and predictable everyday life together with customers - guide daily activities according to the customer's own goals and needs - utilize structured working methods (e.g., daily rhythms, visual supports) - use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) methods - support the customer's right to self-determination and participation - ensure that daily life is safe, peaceful, and suitable for the customer - work in close cooperation with the team and various networks The work emphasizes the ability to meet the customer individually and act calmly even in challenging situations. WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU? - a degree as a practical nurse (or other suitable education in the social and health care sector) - Hygiene passport and a certification card - Medication management skills - Vaccination protection according to the Communicable Diseases Act and a tuberculosis screening - Good oral and written skills in Finnish - The person selected for the position will be asked to present a valid criminal record extract before the start of employment.
