Job Description
In the Data Management unit, we build a comprehensive and reliable data foundation and produce valuable information to support decision-making by management and professionals. Developing cost-effectiveness is a central theme for us: how can we achieve as much health and well-being as possible with limited resources? The Data Expert Team Leader (also known as chapter lead) is the supervisor of the data expert team and a developer of expertise. This is a new role: data experts are no longer tied to individual service areas but operate from a shared pool. Daily work is guided by project teams and development managers. You lead people, build the team, and ensure that the right skills are in the right place at the right time. In your work, you will be responsible for supervising approximately 10 data experts and monitoring the overall workload of the team. You coordinate the team's capacity in collaboration with the unit’s development managers and operational leaders, and escalate situations to the data director if functions compete for the same capacity. You develop data expert work processes and practices together with a senior data expert. In addition to the chapter lead role, you will act as a project manager in cross-organizational data service and development projects. The role also includes other significant responsibilities, agreed upon based on your skills and interests. For example, data protection and information management are key themes where we seek reinforcement. You are also welcome to bring other expertise to the development of the unit. You will be part of a unit that is undergoing a determined renewal. We are evolving from reporting services to an organizational knowledge enabler, and the data expert team leader plays a key role in ensuring the team functions efficiently and develops continuously. We work with modern tools such as Databricks, Azure, and Power BI. Working in a well-being area team gives you the opportunity to do meaningful work that impacts the health and well-being of residents. You will join a skilled and supportive team where collaboration and professional support foster your growth. We work flexibly both remotely and in the office. This allows you to benefit from teamwork strengths while maintaining the flexibility of remote work. Our office is located in Otaniemi, near the metro station. Workplace name and address: West Uusimaa Well-being Area, Corporate Administration, Tekniikantie 15, 02150 Espoo Working hours: 36 hours and 15 minutes per week The position is permanent. Suitable education for the role: Appropriate higher education degree Requirements: Experience in supervising experts or team leadership Ability to manage capacity and resource work in a matrix operating model where content guidance comes from elsewhere Good interaction and collaboration skills: daily interaction with multiple operational leaders and development managers Solution-oriented and organized work approach with the ability to prioritize and make decisions in ambiguous situations Fluent spoken and written Finnish Candidates selected for the position may be asked to provide a substance abuse certificate in accordance with the West Uusimaa Well-being Area’s drug policy. We value: Understanding of data production, BI reporting, or data expert work Experience in process development and building operational models Experience with data protection and information management responsibilities Familiarity with social and health care environment We are agents of change. We boldly renew what needs improvement and preserve what works. We invest in the well-being of every employee and offer diverse benefits. We provide a meal benefit and an annual €300 allowance for cultural, well-being, sports, or travel tickets. Additionally, you can develop your skills through extensive online training via Eduhouse and Oppiporta.
