We are seeking a full-time hourly teacher for visual arts and resource teaching at Merenkurkun koulu for the period 11.8.2026 - 5.6.2027. Merenkurkun koulu is a lower secondary school located in the center of Vaasa with approximately 440 students. In addition to general education, the school provides Swedish language immersion teaching, bilingual (Finnish-English) teaching, and flexible basic education. The duties of the full-time hourly teacher include visual arts teaching (9h/week) in Finnish for grades 7-9, as well as resource teaching in other subjects (at least 7h/week) based on the school's needs and the selected applicant's strengths. Eligibility requirement is qualification in accordance with Decree 986/1998. In the absence of eligible applicants, other applicants will also be considered. We require mastery of diverse teaching methods and a good knowledge of the curriculum. We hope that you are ready to plan, develop, and implement teaching and other school activities in collaboration with others. Understanding the situations of diverse learners is central to success in this role. We value experience in lower secondary school teaching, as well as up-to-date skills and the ability to use information and communication technology in teaching.
