Job Description
Vantaa City, Education and Learning, Secondary Education. Vantaa Vocational College Varia, Vehkala Campus. Vehkalan tie 6, 01730 Vantaa. Employment period: Permanent from 01.08.2026. We are seeking a full-time teacher for electricity and automation at Varia. The college primarily educates compulsory school-aged youth. In addition to vocational skills, the ability to work well with young people is essential for success in this role. Teaching is team-based, and when students participate in joint modules or work placements, we aim to implement a two-teacher model or provide support workshops for theory and practical instruction. Close collaboration is also maintained in monitoring and assessing student skills and their development. The teacher's duties include planning and developing teaching, other tasks assigned to the responsible teacher, and guiding students at workplaces. If you possess strong professional expertise in electricity and automation and see yourself fulfilling the above responsibilities, you may be the person we are looking for. Varia's electricity and automation teaching moved to the new Vehkala campus in autumn 2025. We have fully new teaching facilities. Varia has an experienced and friendly team in electricity and automation, and we are looking for a cooperative and innovative teacher. Qualification requirement: Qualification according to the Decree on Qualifications for Teaching Staff (986/1998). In addition, we require: Good command of content related to partial and miniature low-voltage electrical installations. Terms of employment are governed by the Municipal Education Personnel Collective Agreement (OVTES). Salary: OVTES. Required licenses: The selected candidate must present a valid criminal background check. Number of positions: 1. Trial period: 6 months. Full-time/part-time: Full-time. Type of employment: Permanent position. Working hours: According to the applicable collective agreement, annual working hours.
