Job Description

Päiväkoti Ankkuri is a bilingual early childhood education unit with three sections, as well as Swedish- and Finnish-language preschool groups. The daycare has new multi-purpose facilities and an enthusiastic, professional staff. It is located near the sea and archipelago nature. As an assistant director, you will work as an early childhood education teacher in a children’s group, provide pedagogical support to other staff members, and handle administrative tasks. The role requires initiative, flexibility, and leadership skills. If you are familiar with the software used in our daycare, such as Päikky and Maxtech, that’s great! However, knowledge of these programs is not mandatory, as we will provide the necessary support and training. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop into a strong expert in early childhood education. Qualifications for early childhood education teacher are determined according to the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018), Chapter 6. Salary and other employment terms are based on OVTES Section G. A six-month probationary period applies. The selected candidate must present a criminal background check for working with children, issued under Law 504/2002, and a medical certificate of health. Since the position is in the bilingual Päiväkoti Ankkuri, the candidate must have proficiency in Finnish or Swedish as a native or equivalent level, and good oral and written skills in the second national language.
