Raaseporin terveyskeskus serves about 27,000 residents, 64% of whom speak Swedish as their mother tongue. The health centre includes Tammisaari and Karjaa health stations, with 13 doctors and 40 nurses. Some nurses work in two-shift rotations at Raasepori’s emergency department. Suitable unit sizes promote smooth collaboration across staff. Tammisaari acts as Helsinki University’s teaching health station and offers excellent guidance and onboarding opportunities, especially for doctors at the start of their career. In Karjaa there is a tight multidisciplinary work community where YEK-phase doctors are offered close mentoring. The same roof houses dental care, maternity care and mental health services, and HUS laboratory lies next door for smooth collaboration.
