About the role

g2 Recruitment are currently supporting a leading contractor on a large-scale data centre project in Kouvola, Finland, and we’re looking for an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join on a 12-month contract. Location: Kouvola, Finland Start: ASAP Contract: 12 months You'll play a key role in the delivery of electrical commissioning activities across a major data centre project, supporting the commissioning team from pre-commissioning through to energisation, IST, and final handover. The Role: Supporting the planning and execution of electrical commissioning activities Carrying out and witnessing testing across critical electrical systems Reviewing commissioning procedures, method statements, and test documentation Coordinating with construction, QA/QC, vendors, and client teams Identifying and resolving technical issues during commissioning phases Supporting commissioning meetings and reporting project progress Overseeing commissioning of key systems including: MV/LV distribution systems Transformers and switchgear UPS and STS systems Backup generators Protection and control systems SCADA/BMS interfaces Earthing and lightning protection systems Ensuring all commissioning records and handover documentation are completed accurately Supporting final system validation and client handover Your Profile: Strong experience in electrical commissioning within data centre, mission-critical, industrial, or large-scale construction environments Knowledge of MV/LV power distribution systems and associated testing procedures Experience commissioning UPS, generators, switchgear, and critical power infrastructure Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications Strong communication skills and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders Previous data centre project experience is highly desirable You must be able to Freelance in the EU in order to apply for this role.   • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to freelance in the EU
