We are seeking a midwife for a permanent position at the Gynecology and Postpartum Ward of Hyvinkää Hospital, who is enthusiastic about versatile ward work and baby-friendly care. On our ward, we care for patients who have given birth vaginally or by cesarean section, as well as newborn babies. Additionally, the ward treats various gynecological patients who may arrive via the gynecological emergency department or the surgical unit. The work emphasizes high-quality guidance for patients and families according to individual needs. The Gynecology and Obstetrics unit is a versatile and busy workplace where there is an opportunity to utilize broad midwifery expertise. Furthermore, our unit offers excellent opportunities to acquire and develop expertise in various areas of midwifery. We aim to maintain a development-oriented atmosphere. Patient-centered, individual care tailored to the needs of families – genuine encounter – is important to us. We have a great work community operating as a seamless team across different professional groups. The work is in three shifts. Employees have the possibility of job rotation to the delivery unit, the gynecology and obstetrics emergency department, and the maternity and gynecology clinics. We also collaborate closely with other units, such as the pediatric ward and the operating room. Our units operate according to the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative and the Couplet Care culture. The hospital was certified as a baby-friendly hospital in 2015, and we are renewing the certification as soon as possible. You commit to these operating methods. As a midwife, you will act as an independent and responsible professional in a multidisciplinary team. Good cooperation and interaction skills, flexibility, and a positive attitude are helpful in this role. Eligibility requirements: Licensed midwife or a licensed registered nurse with a specialist nursing degree in maternity care and gynecology. We require vaccination protection in accordance with the Communicable Diseases Act for those working in client and patient areas, and a health status report regarding pulmonary tuberculosis for those working in healthcare units. The selected person must present an acceptable health status report provided by an occupational health professional before accepting the position.
