Job Description
We are seeking a social worker for the team responsible for children's and youth's disability services, which includes two other social workers and two social guidance counselors. Central to our operations are customer-centricity and a solution-oriented approach that supports clients' resources. As a social worker, you will act as a social work expert and consultant for other disability services staff. Your work is guided, among other things, by the Act on Disability Services. In this position, clients are children, youth, and adults under 29. Disability services have several locations in the Kymenlaakso region; you will work at the Kouvola location. The duties require mobility and the possibility of using your own car or at least a driver's license. The social worker's job consists primarily of client work. Assessing service needs, updating client plans, and granting services to clients are central contents of the work. You are responsible for the progress and monitoring of client processes and participate in the continuous development process of client work and social work as a member of the disability services team. Your working style emphasizes belief in the power of cooperation, but you are able to take independent responsibility for matters and your actions. We provide supervision to support your work, as well as an encouraging, flexible, and collaborative work community. You are eligible for the position if you have a degree in social work and are licensed for the role. In the selection, expertise in disability services, particularly with children, youth, and young adults, is considered an advantage. In the absence of applicants meeting the eligibility requirements, we will consider applicants who meet the requirements for substitute eligibility. A person who is studying for the social work profession and has successfully completed basic and intermediate social work studies and practical training may act in social worker duties temporarily for a maximum of one year. A person who has completed the following may also act in social worker duties temporarily: 1. A suitable university degree in a social science field or a university of applied sciences degree in the social and health care field, 2. Basic and intermediate social work studies, and 3. Practical training or sufficient practical experience and professional skill. We have a comprehensive training calendar to support your career path. It is important to us to promote work-life balance; to support your well-being, we offer an Epassi benefit. We want to make the application process as smooth as possible for you.
