A TEACHER / DEPUTY DIRECTOR in early childhood education for a permanent position starting August 3, 2026, or by agreement. The placement at the start of employment is Sipoonjoki Pre-Primary, located in Nikkilä at the modern Sydän facilities with good transportation links in the HSL area. In the same building, there is Sipoonjoki Comprehensive School and Kungsvägens Skola, with a shared large sports hall and versatile outdoor areas. The preschool offers Finnish pre-primary education for 6-year-old children a year before school starts, and children in their own group have the opportunity for supplementary early childhood education. During the 2026-2027 season, Lukkarin School grades 3-6 and a special class are also temporarily located in Nikkilä. You will have the opportunity to help create and develop our operational culture in connection with the comprehensive school, in collaboration with early primary education. There are also libraries and good sports facilities nearby all year round. We utilize the surrounding environment and nature, for example, by hiking in forests and parks. As an assistant director, the early childhood education teacher works alongside the daycare manager, participating in quality, assessment, leadership, and pedagogical activities. In addition to the primary role as a teacher, responsibilities include other unit management tasks agreed upon with the daycare manager and acting as a substitute for the supervisor. As deputy director, you support the manager in the operational and pedagogical leadership of the daycare and can influence daily activities and develop its operations in collaboration with the daycare manager and other early childhood education staff. The qualification requirement for the position is at least the qualification according to the Finnish Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018), considering sections 74 and 75 and transitional provisions. The selected candidate must have pre-primary teacher qualification and excellent oral and written Finnish language skills. Salary and employment terms are based on OVTES Section G, with a task-specific level salary of €3194.79/month plus possible bonuses. A six-month probation period applies. The selected person must provide a criminal background check as required by law (504/2002) and a health certificate. The Infectious Diseases Act requires tuberculosis screening before starting work with preschool children.
