HSE Supervisor (Freelance) – Oil & Gas Project Location: Germany Contract Type: Freelance / Contract Duration: 12 Months Industry: Oil & Gas Language Requirement: Fluent German and English About the Role We are seeking an experienced HSE Supervisor to join a major Oil & Gas EPC project in Germany on a 12-month freelance contract. The successful candidate will act as the Client's HSE representative, overseeing EPC contractor activities and ensuring compliance with project HSE requirements, German regulations, and industry best practices. A key aspect of this role is liaising with local German authorities and regulatory bodies, making fluent German language skills essential. Key Responsibilities - Supervise and monitor EPC contractor HSE performance on site. - Ensure compliance with German health, safety, and environmental legislation. - Verify contractor compliance with project HSE plans, procedures, and permit requirements. - Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety observations. - Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and incident investigations. - Review risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work documentation. - Identify HSE risks and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions. - Interface with local authorities, regulatory agencies, and external stakeholders as required. - Prepare HSE reports, inspection records, and performance metrics for the project management team. - Promote a strong safety culture throughout the project. Requirements - Minimum 5 years' HSE supervision experience within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Energy, or EPC construction sectors. - Strong knowledge of German HSE legislation and regulatory requirements. - Experience overseeing EPC contractors on major industrial projects. - Fluent German (spoken and written) is mandatory. - Good command of English. - Relevant HSE qualification (NEBOSH, IOSH, Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit, or equivalent). - Experience with permit-to-work systems, risk assessments, and contractor management. - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
