The wellbeing services county of South Savo (Eloisa) is seeking a registered nurse for a permanent position at the palliative center in Mikkeli starting September 14, 2026, or by agreement. At the B-specialty level ward of the palliative center, we care for patients in the phase of palliative or end-of-life care. As a nurse, you will work as part of a professional and warm-hearted multidisciplinary team, where the patient's individual care plan and daily rhythm guide your work. Holistic care includes supporting the patient and their loved ones and empathetic encounters in all situations. The work is three-shift work. Key aspects of the work include: - comprehensive symptom management - demanding and individual pain management - addressing the mental, spiritual, and existential needs of patients Our operations are based on patient-centeredness and the preservation of quality of life. Eligibility requirements include a Bachelor of Nursing degree or an earlier college-level degree, as well as legalization in accordance with the Act on Health Care Professionals (559/94). Additionally, sufficient oral and written Finnish language skills are required for the performance of the duties. Specialist training in palliative care (30 ECTS) is considered an advantage. The position requires vaccination protection according to Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a health certificate regarding respiratory tuberculosis according to Section 55. A six (6) month probationary period applies to the employment relationship. Applications must be received by the end of the application period.
