Support Worker (casual work), Onnikoti Kastanja, Mikkeli Come and work with people with intellectual disabilities in our unique and lively team! We are looking for support workers for casual work at Onnikoti Kastanja in Mikkeli, a 24-hour supported-living unit for people with intellectual disabilities. Working in the intellectual-disability field is rewarding and valuable teamwork in a multidisciplinary team for the benefit of special people. A support worker’s duties include supporting each client’s individual strengths, working with their close contacts and providing stimulating activities. The residents of Onnikoti Kastanja are adults, mostly young people with intellectual disabilities. Our residents are very independent and active; they need individual verbal guidance to manage everyday life and support with activities outside the unit. We are happy to advise and guide you in your work and support one another. We hope you are a proactive and flexible team member who is eager to support diversity and individuality. Our group also needs a good sense of humour and the ability to throw yourself into a variety of tasks. As an employer, we are flexible, and shifts and working hours can be arranged flexibly. You are a graduated social and healthcare professional or a student, and you already have skills or experience in guidance work. Previous experience in the intellectual-disability field is not essential. What matters is treating people with dignity. We hope you will apply even if you still have areas to develop in your skills. Our team works together with respect for everyone, so a positive, humorous and proactive person will enjoy working with us. The work is mainly verbal guidance. Nursing duties require Finnish language skills of at least B1, while assisting duties require at least A2 or an equivalent level, as well as a commitment to maintaining your language skills. The work requires vaccination protection under the Communicable Diseases Act, tuberculosis screening and a salmonella certificate, as well as valid Suosikki/Terhikki registration, a professional card and a hygiene passport.
