The City of Tornio is seeking an Employment Specialist for a permanent position starting September 1, 2026. The workstation is located at the Tornio City Hall. As an Employment Specialist, you will work in the centralized services team. Your duties include managing the support and reimbursement processes granted to employers and job seekers in the employment area, from granting to payment, invoicing for employment services, and budget monitoring for training. In your work, you will participate in the regional unemployment security working group, answer the service phone together with the team, and handle registry tasks. You will monitor the studies of students receiving unemployment benefits and work in close cooperation with other employment specialists and stakeholders to promote the matching of job seekers and vacancies. We require a suitable higher education degree, and work experience in employment promotion tasks is considered an advantage. Successful performance of the duties requires independent judgment and problem-solving skills, initiative, and the ability to prioritize and manage your own work. Knowledge of the information and e-service systems of the administration of labor and economy will facilitate the start of work but is not essential. In your work, decision-making and guidance are based on laws, regulations, and instructions, which you must master.
