About the role

The Nipert day nursery consists of three groups for children aged 1-5 years in modern facilities set in a nature-rich environment. In winter we have access to a nearby skating rink, and year-round we go on excursions to the nearby forest. Movement is an important part of our daily life — our bedrooms also function as gym spaces. Our 5-year-olds participate every other week in the Play and Movement project in Kameleonten, where they participate in guided gym sessions. In our staff we include, in addition to pedagogical personnel, a kitchen assistant and a day-care assistant shared with Fågelsången. At Nipert’s day nursery we value genuine engagement to develop the pedagogical activity in accordance with the early childhood education plan. We work purposefully based on a clear didactic model that supports planning, implementation and systematic pedagogical documentation. The activity is based on the interests of the children and the different learning areas. Through observation and documentation of the children’s play and activity we can identify their interests and needs and further develop the activity. Play is a central part of our operations, where play and learning go hand in hand and permeate both approach and content. Our aim is that everyone, both children and adults, should feel welcome and involved in our activity. Cooperation and open communication are central values for us. As a teacher at Nipert you become a part of a team that actively wants to develop pedagogy and the activity. Our qualified teachers work according to annual working time, which means that part of the planning time is spent outside ordinary working hours and compensated with time off. We also support staff development and strongly believe in joint reflection and collegial learning. We are now seeking an engaged and solution-oriented teacher for our group for 4-5-year-olds. You are responsible for planning, implementation and evaluation of the activity together with your team. The role also includes responsibility as team leader and to act as a pedagogical partner to the management. We value good knowledge of the early childhood education plan and the ability to translate it into daily work. Workplace and address: Nipert day nursery, Nikuäker 1, 02920 Espoo. Working hours: 38 hours 15 minutes per week. The job is for a fixed term. Sector of employment: UKTA Municipal service and labor collective agreement for teaching staff. This workplace is accessible. Qualifications: Qualification in accordance with the Act on Early Childhood Education (540/2018). At least a Bachelor’s degree in education including the preschool teacher education track, or a polytechnic degree in health care and social sector (early childhood education). In recruitment, teachers in early childhood education who are soon to graduate are also considered. Excellent spoken and written Swedish. We expect: The selected person should present a police background extraction as per 6 § 2 moment in the Penal Code. The Infectious Diseases Act requires risk assessment for tuberculosis among employees in the social and health sector and those working with children in pre-school. We value: an engaged educator who can translate the curriculum into practice and adapt instruction to the individual needs of children in consultation with guardians. Esbo – our city as pioneers, courage to renew, ability to develop, Esbo is a pioneer city.
