The job description mainly includes simultaneous and differentiated teaching in lower grades (3rd-6th). Additionally, the task includes some teaching hours in health education and home economics in upper grades. Martinlaakso School is a comprehensive school for grades 1-9 with about 1000 students and about 130 adults. Our school is located in Martinlaakso with good transport connections. We operate in a modern school building with up-to-date teaching equipment. The diverse immediate environment offers excellent opportunities for learning and movement. Our goal is to be a pedagogically unified basic school where learners of different ages meet. Class teaching and subject teaching are located close to each other, and adults collaborate to support the idea of a unified basic school and enable a coherent school path from the first grade to the end of basic education. We develop our school according to the ProKoulu operating model, which means common goals and methods for the entire adult community to guide student behavior using positive feedback. We require the applicant to commit to educational work according to this operating model. We value experience in simultaneous and differentiated teaching, the ability to act flexibly as part of a large and multidisciplinary community, good interaction and working skills, and the ability to plan and organize one's own work. Additional information: Based on the number of students with a native language other than Finnish (S2), teaching staff meeting the requirements may be paid a salary supplement of approx. 250 eur/month.
