Practical Nurse

The wellbeing services county of South Savo (Eloisa) is seeking a practical nurse for a permanent position at the Haukivuori Service Centre starting August 24, 2026, or by agreement. Our priority is a good daily life together with our clients. At the Haukivuori Service Centre, we live alongside our clients, listen to their wishes, and support them in their everyday lives. Our service centre has 43 client places in four different group homes. We provide 24-hour community residential services for the elderly as well as short-term periodic care. As a practical nurse in elderly residential services, you will work with a customer-oriented approach and support the functional capacity of elderly clients, taking their individual resources into account. Your work includes basic and medication care according to the client's care plan, as well as assessing functional capacity and care needs within a multidisciplinary work community. Respecting the client's right to self-determination and their right to an independent, good final stage of life guides all your activities, and cooperation with relatives is a natural part of the daily work. Eligibility requirements include a suitable vocational qualification in social and health care or a previous vocational qualification in the field, as well as registration in the professional register of the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health (Valvira). Additionally, sufficient oral and written proficiency in Finnish is required for the performance of the duties. The position requires vaccination protection as stipulated in Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a health certificate regarding respiratory tuberculosis as per Section 55. A six (6) month probationary period applies to the employment relationship. A person working with the elderly must present an acceptable criminal record extract before starting work in employment relationships exceeding 3 months (Supervision Act 741/2023 Section 28).
