Fish Processor for the Christmas Season

We are now looking for fish processors for the busiest Christmas season at a fish factory on Föglö in the Åland Islands. The work may include many different tasks at the fish factory: killing fish, gutting them, cleaning fish, collecting roe, packing, lifting heavy boxes and other tasks. Working conditions are cool, around +2–+6 °C, so readiness to work in cold conditions is important. At Nordic Trout/Bolt.Works, you will become part of a skilled and very cooperative “work family.” Who is this job suitable for? The work requires reasonable general strength, stamina and an active approach. Previous experience in fish-processing tasks is an advantage, but not essential. You will be trained for the work. The job suits someone who enjoys being close to nature, as the workplace is on the island of Föglö in a beautiful archipelago. You should be able to communicate fluently in English to ensure smooth communication within the team. A hygiene passport is an advantage. - Working time: 20–37.5 hours/week (usually at least 30 hours/week) - Pay: approximately €12/hour, depending on experience - Contract duration: approximately 1.5 months - Estimated start date: 9 November - Estimated end date: 20 December - Collective agreement: Food Industry collective agreement - Employment: through Bolt Information about the workplace and practical arrangements: Föglö does not have town services: the island has a small grocery shop, library and gym, while other town services are in Mariehamn, a 35-minute ferry trip and 30 minutes by car or bus away. You can also manage without a car on the island, as the workplace is close to the accommodation and there is a bus to Mariehamn. If you wish, we can arrange accommodation for you: rent is approximately €300–450, including electricity and water, in a shared apartment.
