About the role

Disability social work employs permanent social guidance counselors, social workers, and leading social workers. Two different teams operate in housing client guidance, and we are now seeking a social worker for a fixed-term position until the end of 2027, as a team member is working in a fixed-term project role. We hope the applicant has the enthusiasm and will to develop the pathway for disabled persons to housing services. The duties of the social worker in the housing client guidance team include coordinating service entities related to housing services for disabled persons and collaborating with housing service providers. Together with the client and their network, the social worker prepares a service need assessment and a client plan, and makes official decisions based on the Social Care Act, the Disability Services Act, and the Act on Special Care. You will receive support from your team colleagues and supervisor. Additionally, we have structures that enable the handling of acute matters, support from a multidisciplinary team, and regular cooperation with service providers. In addition to interesting and varied work, we offer thorough orientation and extensive training and development opportunities. Our offices are located in the center of Espoo, Kirkkonummi, Lohja, and Raseborg, and we can agree on your fixed office location in either Espoo or Kirkkonummi, taking your wishes into account. We offer the possibility to work remotely for part of the week. Central to the work is meeting clients in their homes, housing units, and at the office. The work requires an independent and solution-oriented approach, good interaction skills, and good oral and written skills in either Finnish or Swedish, with satisfactory proficiency in the other language. Workplace name and address: Länsi-Uudenmaan hyvinvointialue disability social work Working hours: 37 h 45 min / week. The position is fixed-term until the end of 2027. Eligibility requirements: Qualification in accordance with Section 7 of the Act on Social Care Professionals (817/2015). The position starts on September 14, 2026, or by agreement. We will interview applicants during the application period. Requirements for the position: - Driver's license and willingness to use a car - Expertise in client work and work experience in disability social work - Goal-oriented approach, flexibility, and a customer service mindset - Independent and solution-oriented approach - Good interaction skills and good oral and written skills in either Finnish or Swedish, with satisfactory proficiency in the other language. - Selected candidates will be randomly asked for a drug test certificate in accordance with the Länsi-Uudenmaan hyvinvointialue substance abuse program Experience in disability social work and housing services is valued.
