IT & Security Lead

We are Maybell Quantum, a venture-backed quantum hardware company building the cryogenic infrastructure for quantum computers. We seek a hands-on IT & Security Lead to own and evolve our security program across three sites, while also handling day-to-day IT support. This role focuses on cybersecurity—identity and access management, endpoint and email defense, patching, logging, incident response, and access controls for export-controlled data—plus occasional IT troubleshooting to support the manufacturing floor and test labs. You will work with Operations, Engineering, Trade Compliance, and executive leadership to protect critical technical work without slowing production. Responsibilities include owning the security baseline and architecture, maintaining posture documentation, running security awareness and phishing training, managing site access controls, and reporting security metrics. You will own MS 365/Entra ID configuration, Defender/M365 stack, Intune policy enforcement, and joiner/mover/leaver processes. Incident response, runbooks, tabletop exercises, and evidence for export-controlled data controls are part of the role. You will secure CAD/PLM file infrastructure, manage repository access and CI/CD security, and oversee lab/network segmentation and manufacturing IT risk. You’ll also manage IT operations: day-to-day support, MSP relations, licenses, procurement, and automation to keep security priority high. Qualifications: 8+ years in IT/security with progressive ownership; you’ve been the senior or sole technical decision-maker. You’ve run patching, access reviews, and at least one end-to-end incident. Deep Microsoft 365/Entra ID security expertise including conditional access, Intune, and Defender in production. Experience supporting a manufacturing, lab, or hardware engineering environment. Willingness to handle IT troubleshooting when needed. Comfortable saying no to local admin and shadow SaaS. Exposure to regulated data handling (GDPR, ITAR/EAR, CMMC) is a plus. Multi-site or international support experience is a plus. Familiarity with CAD/PLM security and CI/CD security is a plus. Certifications such as CISSP/CISM/SC-200/AZ-500 welcomed but not required.
