In the Bridges of Education project, cooperation between eight municipalities in the organization of basic education is developed. The Ministry of Education and Culture granted Alavieska, Haapavesi, Kalajoki, Merijärvi, Oulainen, Pyhäjoki, the City of Raahe and Siikalatva a total of 318,688 euros in state subsidies for the development of inter-municipal cooperation in basic education. The period of use of the grant is 1.6.2026-31.7.2028. The City of Raahe acts as the coordinator of the Bridges of Education project. The cooperation project has three main goals: Quality teaching and cost control Tightening cooperation between municipalities Strengthening competence, inclusion and well-being The project coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination of the project, coordination of cooperation between municipalities, preparation and implementation of development measures as well as monitoring, evaluation and reporting of the project. The project coordinator supports the construction of common operating models, the development of staff competence and the achievement of goals for the quality of teaching, cost-effectiveness and well-being. He acts as the preparer of the steering group and as a contact person between municipalities and is responsible for the project's communication and network cooperation. The project coordinator has strong support from the steering group. The eligibility requirement for the task is a higher university degree. The project coordinator must have a strong knowledge of basic education as well as knowledge of the education field, teaching work and the curriculum. Performing the task also requires experience in project coordination, ability to work independently, networking and cooperation skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams. Experience in municipal administration, planning and implementation of training, service design skills and experience in coordinating network work are considered an advantage. The project coordinator works in a mobile role in different project municipalities. The task includes participation in inter-municipal meetings, school-specific development processes and stakeholder cooperation. Efficient performance of the task requires the possibility of using one's own car in work tasks.
