Lifeguard and Swimming Instructor

The Veteli sports center and swimming hall serve many people and thus perform meaningful wellbeing work. We are looking for a lifeguard/swimming instructor for a fixed-term employment contract who works with a customer-oriented, inspiring, and developing approach. The position will be filled on October 1, 2026, or by agreement. The weekly working time is 38.25 hours/week. The work includes day and evening shifts, and possibly weekend work. In addition to the basic duties of lifeguarding and swimming instruction, the tasks include instructing water aerobics and possibly other exercise groups, communication and marketing, planning and implementing events, organizing activities, using the space reservation system and invoicing, as well as participating in the planning and development of the sports center and swimming hall activities. Successful performance of the work requires good interaction skills, positivity, activity, organizational skills, as well as responsibility and diligence. Basic IT skills are also necessary. Eligibility requirements for the lifeguard/swimming instructor position are education in the field of sports or other suitable education for the field; in addition, training as a lifeguard and/or swimming instructor from SUH is considered an advantage. The position requires good swimming skills, and the lifeguard's test swim will likely be performed in spring 2027. First aid training and experience in lifeguarding/swimming instruction/group instruction are considered advantages. The position-specific salary is €2,315.11, with possible work experience additions. The probationary period is six (6) months. The selected person must present a criminal record extract in accordance with the Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002) within 30 days of starting work.
